'Shift | decode: design: disrupt’ is the title of Creativities Unfold 2015, the biggest creative symposium and design event held annually in Thailand. We were approached to design the key visual, program leaflet and the whole venue for the event.

As the content of this symposium is quite complicated, involving significant movements of Big Data, Digital Fabrication, Open Source, Co-creation, Innovation Design, Internet of Things, Startup, and so forth, the challenge is how to digest these information and visualise them in an innovative way that is accessible for all and to engage audiences. Inspired by the concept of adaptability to succeed in today’s digital world, we created plants as the key visual of CU 2015 where each part is different in form, texture, and material. The big idea was to ‘shift’ to survive.

We intended to intertwine the symposium content with our design process, input, and output. We also shifted our working process by collaboration with various creative firms where each takes part in a technical project such as the Facebook quiz game, video and photo booth. We invited designers from diverse industries to make a series of logos to envision possibilities and opportunities for the entrepreneur, to imply the definition of co-creation. Our approach allowed CU2015 to reach and attract more people, including non-designers on social media channels. The number of TCDC VDO views increase thousand times from the previous year.

The project won DEmark (Design Excellence/Thailand) and G-Mark (Good Design/Japan) awards. Mr. Siam, our creative director and head of the project, was also invited to deliver a talk about our working process to the graphic designers at TCDC Chiangmai.
